The FMGE is divided into two parts, each consisting of 150 questions. FMGE (SCREENING TEST) EXAM PATTERN:

1. The FMGE SCREENING TEST is conducted in English language

2. The FMGE SCREENING TEST consists of one paper comprising 300 multiple choice, single correct response questions in English language only, delivered in two parts to be taken in a single day. 

3. The FMGE SCREENING TEST examination shall be a multiple choice questions test delivered using computer network as per prescribed scheme. 

4. Negative Marking: There shall be no negative marking. 

5. Allocation of time for the FMGE shall be as follows :

Note: FMGE is divided into two parts of 150 questions each with time allocation of 150 minutes for each part. There is a scheduled break between the two parts.     

The FMGE SCREENING TEST shall be conducted as a Computer Based Test comprising of 300 Multiple Choice Questions of single correct response type without any negative marking as per the existing scheme of Foreign Medical Graduate Examination.

An FMGE applicant shall be declared as having passed only if he/she obtains a minimum of 50% of marks in the examination. 

FMGE Results (Pass/Fail) for eligible candidates will be displayed at the website and office of NBE. Marks obtained shall be declared for all the candidates and also displayed at the website www.natboard.edu.in

The applicants who qualify the Screening Test may apply to the Medical Council of India, New Delhi or to any State Medical Council for provisional registration /permanent registration.

There are no restrictions on number of attempts that can be availed by an FMGE SCREENING TEST applicant.
